We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Human Resources department as a Principal HR Business Partner in Cape Town in South Africa.



This position will partner with VPs,





Directors and Senior Managers to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives including talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. This role is also accountable for driving key initiatives and projects such as organizational design and annual talent processes. The individual in this role will work with global teams, driving organizational change initiatives and develop talent management plans for their client group. This role will partner closely with HR colleagues globally.



To be successful, you must understand the business units you are supporting. You'll need strong analytic skills and the ability to translate client business plans and goals into human resource capabilities needed to achieve results. You must be able to interface effectively with professionals at all levels. You'll need excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and planning ability, and the agility to function in a fast paced and innovative environment.

Key job responsibilities



· Develop and implement people plans and solutions in order to achieve people initiatives and deliver results for the global specialist organization.



· Partner with senior leaders and their leadership teams to develop the talent strategy needed to support our tremendous growth, and build a work environment where employees can thrive and grow.



· Working closely with specialist central HR teams, as well as matrixed site and international HR colleagues, keep the right focus on assessing the HR needs in areas such as performance management, talent acquisition, career development, diversity and compensation/rewards.



· Function as a consultant and counselor to key leaders and their respective organizations; engage in strategic planning meetings to translate business needs into HR plans.



· Partner with the business on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and skills assessment and development.



· Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience in order to recommend systemic improvements.



· Partner with the business to lead our Organization and Leadership Review, which focuses on succession planning, talent development and organizational health priorities.



· Provide compensation support including salary planning, approval of salary actions, promotions and job re-leveling.



· Work with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests.



· Partner with the AWS talent acquisition team to build systemic and scalable recruiting programs to create a sustainable pipeline of talent.



Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



· 10- years of experience in an HR Business Partner role



· University degree or MBA preferred



· Generalist HR experience including policy writing, solid exposure to Industrial Relations / Labour Relations including mitigating and resolving Labour disputes



· Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions



· Strong Project/Program Management Skills



· Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization



· Effective communication skills - written, verbal and listening skills



· Ability to work independently



· Ability to work well across different functions and locations



· Team building and team development capabilities



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



· Experience working with software development/technical teams preferred



· Develop and own the delivery of the strategic HR plan for each business supported and ensure consistency with local and global HR goals



· Provide expert input to your client groups as well as the HR team in terms of local employment legislation, policies and practices



· Be an expert in industry best practices around functional areas of new trends and opportunities to constantly raise the bar on HR deliverables
