As a Pit Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing pit operations ensuring safe and efficient extraction of minerals and meeting production targets
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily Pit operations for enhanced efficiency and productivity
- Implementing, reinforcing and ensuring compliance to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment
- Collaborating with various departments to coordinate activities and resolve operational challenges
- Implementing best practices to improve overall pit performance
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Ensure that procedures and COPs are strictly adhered to
- Technical supervision
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12
- 7 years open cast experience
- Processing plant and mine planning experience will be advantageous
- Computer literacy MS Office
- English proficiency
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Good report writing skills
- Knowledge of the Opencast Mining, and Engineering works
- Opencast Blasting Certificate
- Competent person A certificate
- Proven leadership and managerial skills
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test
- Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure
- Be a self-starter and able to work according to deadlines
- Integrity, reliable and ethical
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
