The School of Education has a long-standing tradition in research and postgraduate teaching in Adult Education, and in Peace and Justice Education. The School hosts the DSI/NRF South African Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) in Peace and Justice Education. The School of Education seeks to employ a dedicated individual who will co-ordinate and lecture modules for a fixed-term period at Advanced Diploma,
Honours and postgraduate levels in Adult Education and in Peace and Justice Education. The incumbent will be engaged with curriculum development and delivery, teaching practice, as well as research and supervision in Peace and Justice Education. The incumbent will also be expected to actively contribute to research that interfaces with and will be required to collaborate with the SARChI Chair.
The incumbent will report to Academic Leader : Education and Development Studies
· PhD degree in Adult Education or a related field.
· Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
· Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
· A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level as appropriate for the level.
· Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.
