Role description
Responsible for efficient forming operations of all machines, working towards operational pack to melt targets, supervising, controlling and effective running of the forming department within sphere of control.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and optimizes manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and cost -effectiveness in production.
- Manages performance, attendance, discipline and manpower of operators and PTs on shift
- Understands, interprets and acts upon production information on GR8 and logs shift information in a detailed report.
- Discusses gob formation and loading with PTs and monitors GIA.
- Monitors MCS systems and communicates appropriate action with Shift manager and engineering department concerned.
- Performs set and ware handling audits on machines during shift.
- Co-ordinates hot end breakdowns with shift Fitter/Electrician/Mould repairer.
- Applies problem solving to resolve bottle defects.
- Provides on-the-job-training and coaching and makes recommendations to fill skills gaps on shift.
- Understands all relevant SOP's and applies GMP standards to procedures, process, safety, housekeeping, etc.
- Actively participates in MDWT
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Matric
- Forming level 3 qualification
- Completed Ardagh Supervisory Programme
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Forming, glass manufacturing environment.
- Proven trouble-shooting skills in all aspects of bottle making is essential.
- Forehearth & Feeder knowledge advantageous
- Knowledge and experience in GR8, FSC, [URL Removed] & GMP
