Credit Controller

An emerging private hospital group who develop and manage their portfolio hospitals by serving rural and peri-urban clients across three provinces is looking for a Credit Controller.

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing and executing the collection activities for the group hospital function. This includes tracking outstanding accounts, contacting patients and insurance companies for payment, and ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to handle sensitive financial information effectively.

Duties will include but not be limited to:







- Track and manage outstanding accounts receivable for the hospital group
- Generate and distribute invoices and statements to patients and insurance companies
- Monitor payment deadlines and follow up on overdue accounts
- Contact patients and insurance companies via phone, email, and mail to discuss and arrange payment plans
- Negotiate and establish payment arrangements, ensuring they are documented accurately
- Handle and resolve payment discrepancies and disputes efficiently
- Perform regular reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities, status of accounts, and any issues or trends identified
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all collection efforts and communications
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations related to billing and collections
- Handle all patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance companies,





addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., billing, patient services) to resolve issues and improve collection processes
- Identify and suggest improvements in collection processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to medical billing and collections

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in accounts receivable, collections, or related financial role
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in hospital billing and collections, is highly desirable






- Strong understanding of billing and collection processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
