Main purpose of the job:To Facilitate the Expansion and coverage of TG through mapping and identifying hotspots in Bellville, Cape TownStrengthen collaborations with partners, community, and stakeholders to improve treatment uptake, care, and support between the communities, community-based structures, and identified health facilitiesLocation:Bellville, Cape TownKey performance areas:Conduct microplanning activities including, hotspot mapping and site profilingIdentification of community advisory board (CAB) members to ensure active representation and engagement by the target populationPlan and implement events and campaigns, in collaboration with the outreach team, DOH, and partners, according to the health calendar,
including community dialogues and outreach eventsLiaise with other stakeholders on healthy lifestyle programs and collaborationContribute to the evaluation of the process of community mobilizationWork closely with the district and sub-district teams to document and respond to issues arising from the communityLiaising with sub-partners and other community-based organizations to ensure timely interventions for human rights and gender-based violationsContinuous engagement with the public health clinics, Department of Social Development, and Police in the area to ensure good working relationships to change negative attitudes and raise awareness of the need for services for sex workersSupport the monitoring and evaluation system to measure the coverage and impact of the community interventionProvide HIV Testing Services (HTS) as per DoH policy guidelines and protocol.
Rapid diagnostic tests obtained from DoHProvide accurate health information to sex workers, especially on HIV/AIDS, PrEP, STIs, TB,
and contraception as well as promote healthy behaviors/habitsTracking, tracing, and linkage to careProvide and promote ART adherence support and follow-upProvide and promote psychological support, referral, and follow-upProvide accurate human rights information to sex workersHuman Rights Defense and Support, or referral and follow-upPlan and facilitate the Risk Reduction Workshops and or Creative Space workshops and identify themes and topics from outreach activitiesDistribution of safer sex commodities (male condom; female condom; lubricant; IEC material)Condom demonstrations and promoting correct and consistent condom useSupervision of CHWs and Team Leaders during outreach activitiesContribute to the compilation of monthly and quarterly reports for management and donors on community engagement including compiling correct statsTimeously response to emails from internal and external stakeholdersTake ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrates effective self-managementFollow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintainedMaintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedbackTake ownership of driving your own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy-setting workshops, etc.Required minimum education and training:Grade 12Valid driver's licenseFluent in English and other African languagesRequired minimum work experience:Minimum 2 years experience in community health development and programsDesirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:Tertiary Diploma or Degree in any relevant field including health, education, public relations, or marketingCertificate in HIV ManagementDriver's licenseKnowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, electronic data collectionExperience with community engagement and marketing new servicesTeam Player: Ability to manage own timeAbility to work without close supervisionAdaptable, approachable, empathetic, and willing to take initiativeGood Computer literacyGood communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to network with various stakeholdersAble to work independently and work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamBe tactful,
