PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Junior Lecturer will make significant contributions to the teaching and learning areas of undergraduate Business Studies Education at the Vanderbijlpark Campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching and Learning

- Teaching and learning processes for the distance as well as the on-campus mode of delivery.

Research

- Completion of Master's Degree.

Community Engagement

- Engage in community outreach/implementation of expertise.







Administration

- Performing general administration tasks at programme and module level.

- A bachelor of education honours degree in Curriculum studies/ Educational management and Leadership with EMS as an area of specialisation (NQF Level 8) OR
- A BCom honours degree with PGCE (NQF Level 8) focusing on EMS/Business studies/ Economis as majors.
- A minimum of one (1) year teaching and learning experience in Business studies/ Economics Education at a university level or secondary school.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

- Undertake undergraduate teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time-managing skills.
- Good coping skills to work under pressure.
- Computer literacy (MS office, knowledgeable about cloud storage).
- Experience in teaching and learning material development.
- Ability to teach large classes on both the distance and on-campus mode.
- Conducting research.






- Competent in a variety of teaching, learning and assessment methodologies.
- Ability to use modern platforms (e.g. online interactive whiteboards, eFundi, e-learning, etc.).
- Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the NWU.
- Ability to partake in supervision of postgraduate students.
- Commitment towards furthering own scholarship e.g. publishing articles, conference outputs, furthering own qualifications.

REMUNERATION:

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
