Our client in the Global Business Services industry is currently looking for a Business Development Manager, in Johannesburg, Gauteng
- Understand the market, customer, products, and services of the organisations, with a particular focus on relevant Business Process Outsourcing opportunities and direct marketing in the financial services sector.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate new business campaigns/initiatives for the organisation together with the Chief Client Officer/Executive Team to maximise the company's business opportunities/grow market share and minimise risk.
- Identify potential new target markets (quantify and prioritise) for the organisation,
taking the lead on building robust business proposals that secure new contracts and long-term client relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients.
- Manage the entire process: lead generation; presenting of the organisation to potential clients; gaining an understanding of clients' business and needs; present feasible/alternative solutions.
- Screening of new business enquiries and providing quick and relevant feedback (including managing potential leads from internet and inbound enquiries etc)
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of new business and report weekly on progress, ensuring all opportunities are captured and explored.
- Create and maintain database of proposals and RFI's
- Track new business income, campaign successes/failures and report on monthly.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities within the market to enhance the organisations existing products or introduce new products.
- Ensure effective new business implementation through compilation of a Campaign Brief and briefing of all relevant departments.
- Effectively interact with other departments (Campaign Planning, Campaign Management, Campaign Analytics, Sales teams, Finance etc) when implementing new business to ensure they are fully and correctly briefed in all aspects of the campaign and required deliverables.
- Keep abreast of issues affecting BPO, Direct Marketing and Contact Centre industry, competitors, and clients.
- Providing web based and other research, ground material/literature on new business prospects, competitors, and industry developments.
- Compiling cost estimates, proposals, reports, presentations, and general correspondence for new business.
- Responsible for monitoring the external and internal business environment for any potential business risks or opportunities that may affect the business teams' strategy/objectives.
- Proactively advise the Chief Client Officer and of these factors and suggest strategies to address these.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years current, relevant experience.
- Deep Business Process Outsourcing and new business development experience (qualification preferable)
- Strong record of sales/marketing results (revenue generated), preferably within Business Process Outsourcing and Insurance/Financial Services industries.
- Proven Direct Marketing/Database Marketing Skills.
- Strong Relationship Management/Selling to Key Accounts at a senior level.
- Ability to prepare reports/communication to a high standard.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and coordinate the input of others in these circumstances.
- Must have proven experience in standard computing packages including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and PowerPoi
- R780 000 – R1mil per annum.
