Introduction
Exciting new entrant to the SA retail space has the above vacancy.
The position is responsible for the timely and efficient import and export, of all international shipments.Ensuring full Customs import and export compliance for the company.This roles responsibilities include, but not limited to 3PL supervision, customs clearance, cargo transportation and delivery to the warehouse,as well as product compliance and regulatory affairs matters.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As a planner, controller and coordinator of logistics for import and export.
- Coordinate shipments from the country of origin until delivery up to the warehouse,and continuously improve relevant processes.
- Monitor the payment with the importers to ensure the funds are payable on time, back to the country of origin.
- Codify products with HS code & duty for import declaration purpose.
- Advise on product compliance and regulatory affairs including product labeling,product labeling, special duty and other certification,complying with all statutory requirements.
- Determine eligibility of free trade certificates and certificates of origin,and ensure shipments cleared with the correct HS code and appropriate tariff rates.
- Examine various documents such as costing files, invoices & other related shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Sourcing,selecting, and negotiating with freight forwarders, logistics providers & importers to constantly strive for the most competitive price and service level.
- Overseea timely filing of entries for customs clearance and ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
- Proactively analyse and provide solutions on disruptions and issues in logistics.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in any related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years working in the shipping and logistics area...traceable references required.
- Complete knowledge of all documentation & procedure required during importation and exportation.
- Integrity, maturity and a sense of urgency are a pre-requisite.
- Ability to think outside the box for problem solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office,especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good communication in English and interpersonal skills.
Package & Remuneration
Market related package offered.
Work from home initially until Head Office is situated.
