Full job description
Minimum requirements:
To be considered at Lecturer level, candidate should be:
• In possession of a PhD in Curriculum Studies and/or Pedagogy and/or Teacher Professional Development, or a related field.
• Have up to date, in-depth understanding of teaching and learning theories.
• Thorough knowledge of recent trends and developments in initial teacher education.
• Evidence of research publications in Curriculum Studies and/or Pedagogy and/or Teacher Professional Development, or a related field.
• Track record of academic citizenship through coordination of courses and contribution to committee work.
• Able to supervise and assess preservice teachers during their school-based practical.
• Knowledge and application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in teaching and learning will be an added advantage
To be considered at Senior Lecturer level, candidate should meet the lecturer level criteria listed above: plus,
• A clear research focus, with a sustained record of accredited research publication.
• Record of post-graduate supervision at master’s and PhD levels.
• Evidence of successful grant funding application.
• Experience in teaching and coordinating large classes and blended online teaching.
• Experience in a tertiary initial teacher education environment, contributing to under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Curriculum Studies and/or Pedagogy and/or Teacher Professional Development, or a related field.
Duties:
The appointee will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as postgraduate supervision,
carry out research and academic citizenship such as course co-ordination and serving on division and school committees. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise and assess pre-service teachers during their school-based practicals.
