Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Junior Payroll Accountant to join their successful team.
Reporting to the Payroll Accountant and Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the accurate and timely processing of payroll related financial transactions. This includes working closely with the payroll and finance teams to ensure payroll data is accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in reconciling payroll accounts with the general ledger, ensuring that all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded
- Working closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate payroll processing, including the calculation of wages, bonuses,
deductions, and taxes
- Participating in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll
accounting documentation and explanations
- Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and
accurate information regarding payroll accounting matters.
Requirements:
- B.Com Degree in Finance / working towards one
- 1-2 years previous experience in payroll accounting, finance, or general accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software. Experience with Sage 300 and Navision is essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll accounting concepts clearly
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information with discretion and professionalism
