Role Title: Head of Legal and Compliance
Client Summary:
Our client, a leading player in the online gaming and entertainment sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Legal and Compliance to join their executive team.

Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
• Spearhead the strategic delivery of legal and compliance functions, partnering with top management to mitigate risks and drive business success
• Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of high-stakes business contracts across multiple functions
• Lead project-based merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence, contractual drafting, and regulatory submissions
• Analyze bids, proposals, and emerging legislation to identify opportunities and potential challenges for the business
• Negotiate and conclude licensing conditions with regulatory authorities
• Manage pre-claim resolutions to protect the company's interests effectively
• Drive gaming compliance, anti-money laundering practices, and responsible gaming initiatives
• Serve as the primary regulatory representative, facilitating all interactions with gaming authorities
• Develop and implement internal regulatory policies to ensure operational compliance
• Guide new product development from inception to market launch, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
• Law degree with admission as an attorney, preferably with a focus on corporate or gaming law
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior legal role, with at least 5 years in the gaming or related regulated industry
• Proven track record in managing complex legal and compliance matters in a corporate environment
• Strong understanding of gaming regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and responsible gaming practices
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence at the executive level
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and mitigate legal and regulatory risks
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory landscape
Package & Remuneration
R1,500,000 - R2,000,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications
