Introduction
FOREIGN & LOCAL CREDITORS CLERK– North of Pretoria
A large manufacturing operations urgently needs to appoint an experienced Foreign Creditors Clerk
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- 5 years’ experience in foreign creditors within an automotive component manufacturing industry
- Advanced computer skills, MS Excel and SAP
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare indents that consist of costing schedules summarizing shipping documents, supplier invoices and other related costs
- Process documentation on accounting system
- Cost updates on purchased items
- Request exchange rates for foreign payments
- Load foreign payments on electronic banking system
- Monthly reconciliation of foreign creditors
- Reconcile CFC (foreign currency accounts)
- Control importation documents and foreign AP department
- Compare import freight quotations to invoices charged and arrange credit notes from freight vendors
- Evaluate enquiries from SARS customs regarding goods declarations & arrange VOC’s with freight forwarding vendors
- Monthly calculation & booking of goods in transit material and reverse the transactions
- Submit importation documentation for duty rebate and control grant allocation
- Arrange importation documents, BOL, BOE, Eur1 certification etc. for processing & submission to the bank
- Book all importation documents and allocate importation VAT and duties
- Allocate import freight per item to calculate true cost of importing material
- Arrange payment of foreign accounts payable with either foreign exchange contracts or at spot rate
- Keep a schedule of foreign AP payments
- Journalise foreign exchange gain or loss values per transaction
- Design an easy to use filing library to ensure easy access to importation documents for queries from SARS and auditors
- Maintenance of AP accounts including recons and age analysis
- Revaluating foreign creditor balances at month end
- Fill out clearing instructions to freight forwarding agents
