Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead our residential solar sales team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, a strong understanding of the solar industry, and a passion for renewable energy. This role will involve developing sales strategies, driving team performance, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications Required
· Grade 12/ Matric mandatory.
· National Diploma in Business, Marketing or related field.
Skills and Experience
· Minimum of 5 + years of experience, with at least 2 years in a sales managerial role, in the
residential renewable energy solar sector.
· Previous experience in Business to Client (B2C) sales is essential (non -negotiable).
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and success in direct sales.
In-depth knowledge and experience in the residential solar industry and solar technologies.
· Strong knowledge of residential market dynamics and regulatory environment.
· Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience in building and managing high-
performing sales teams.
Ability to analyse data and market trends to make informed decisions.
· Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of direct sales representatives, providing guidance and support to drive individual and team performance.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to drive growth in the residential solar market.
- Prospect and qualify leads to generate new business opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver proposals tailored to meet the specific needs of customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and establish strong relationships with potential clients.
- Conduct sales presentations and demonstrations to potential clients.
- Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Analyze sales data and prepare regular reports and updates on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends for senior management to track performance and inform decision-making.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching to sales team members.
- Collaborate with marketing to create compelling promotional materials and campaigns.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including large-scale projects, to expand our market presence and maximize revenue potential.
· Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy and the value add of our products/services.
· Stay up-to-date and monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
