A dynamic and innovative leader in the financial services industry is currently looking for a detail orientated Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. The main purpose of this role is to ensure accurate financial management, tax compliance, and reporting to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Duties:
- Manage full financial accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations.
- Oversee tax-related matters, including VAT calculations, submissions, and SARS queries.
- Prepare and submit VAT and tax returns through SARS eFiling.
- Handle foreign exchange transactions and reporting.
- Prepare financial reports using Caseware.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and financial regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide accurate financial data and analysis.
Qualifications & skills:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in tax-related accounting functions.
- Strong experience in VAT and tax submissions.
- Proficiency in Caseware for financial reporting.
- Experience with foreign exchange (forex) transactions.
