In this role, you'll craft a compelling design vision that elevates our brand's visual identity across all platforms.
As a key member of our small, dynamic Marketing team, you'll thrive in a collaborative and innovative start-up environment that values fresh ideas and bold thinking. This means all creative is shared early and often with the multi-disciplinary Marketing team to ensure consistent evolution of our new brand. Design Strategy and Leadership:
- Creative Solutions: Work closely with Head of Marketing to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that meet business needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate within the Marketing team to create cohesive and impactful visual content. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to enhance marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Creative Vision: Develop and articulate a clear and compelling design vision that aligns with company brand and objectives.
- Design Strategy: Create and implement design strategies that support the overall goals of the project or organization.
Design Innovation and Trends:
- Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to ensure that design solutions are modern and relevant.
- Innovation: Explore and experiment with new design techniques, tools,
and technologies to push the boundaries of traditional design.
Design Project Management:
- Project Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end design process for projects, including concept development, execution, and final delivery.
- Timeline Management: Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring that design deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Design Liaison: Liaise with stakeholders, understanding their needs, taking design briefs and translating them into design solutions.
Design Execution and Content Creation:
- Concept Development: Generate innovative design concepts and solutions for various projects.
- Design Production: Create high-quality design assets, including layouts, graphics, and interactive elements using design software.
- Graphic Design:
Create high-quality visual designs for various media, including print, digital and multimedia.
Branding and Visual Identity:
- Brand Consistency: Maintain and enhance the brand's visual identity across all design materials and platforms.
- Brand Guidelines: Develop and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistency in design and messaging.
Quality Assurance:
- Brand Quality Assurance: Ensure that all design work meets high standards of quality, consistency and accuracy.
- Feedback Integration: Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders, making necessary revisions to meet their requirements.
- Review and Feedback: Conduct thorough reviews of design assets and multimedia content to ensure it meets quality standards and aligns with project requirements.
- Testing:
Test design elements to ensure they function correctly across different devices and platforms.
Problem-Solving:
- Design Challenges: Address and resolve design challenges and issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Creative Solutions: Develop creative solutions to meet complex design requirements and constraints.
Design Documentation and Reporting:
- Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design specs and project briefs.
- Asset Management: Maintain asset repository and naming conventions and ensure all design assets are saved in an orderly fashion.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, design outcomes and any challenges faced.
- Energetic and vibrant team player suited to a startup-style environment.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, Visual Arts, or similar. Relevant design certifications are a plus.
- 6+ years of experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design projects, media and styles, including animation / video.
- Proven experience in leading design projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premier Pro) or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, layout, motion graphics, video editing and interactive media.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for design excellence.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
