DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS:
A well-established group of companies in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team at the Group Head Office in Sandton. Under the mentorship of the Group Financial Manager, you'll dive into all aspects of accounting, gaining hands-on experience and learning from seasoned professionals. This is your chance to grow, take on responsibilities, and become an integral part of an innovative and supportive team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a finance unit performing creditors and debtors' duties
- Eagerness to learn and progress in the accounting field
- Attention to detail is critical
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Capture Creditor transactions and reconcile Creditor statements for group companies
- Allocate payments to creditors, allocate credit notes to invoices, and allocate discounts
- File all Creditors documentation
- Address and resolve any issues or questions from suppliers regarding payments
- Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding invoice queries and payment status
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as required
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Conduct reconciliation of bank statements, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
- Process retainer billing sales invoices
- Follow up and report on outstanding debtor accounts
- Process inter-company transactions
- Assist in the management of inventory
- Prepare financial reports such as margin reports
- Assist the finance team with overflow of accounting duties
