Overall purpose of the role
As an Azure consultant, you will be helping customers with the technical aspects of the Microsoft Azure cloud computing offerings. You will use your knowledge and skills to help customers implement cloud computing solutions. You will work hand-in-hand with customer teams and Microsoft Azure partners to provide deep expertise in the architecture, design, development, and implementation of cloud computing initiatives that result in real business outcomes.
Your job duties include designing and explaining Azure cloud-based operations to a company’s management and employees. You must have a wide breadth and depth of skill in Azure infrastructure, and real-world experience to back this up.
You’ll need to have a breadth of supporting technical skills such as knowledge of security best practices, Linux, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, scripting, networking, and infrastructure as code.
The role is client-facing, so you’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions
Duties & Responsibilities
- Gather and evaluate user and business requirements and develop specifications and designs.
- Design, document, and implement strategies around Cloud and DevOps.
- Design, develop, implement, and test the automated infrastructure and application deployments on Microsoft Azure.
- Automating Cloud migration from on-prem business applications to Azure Cloud.
- Penetrating deeper in Cloud/Emerging technology areas by helping customers to improve their business performance.
- Work directly with customers and tailor your approach to their situation.
- Maintain existing client relationships.
- Review infrastructure and processes against Azure frameworks.
- Understand Microsoft Azure packages and where they would be a good fit for customers.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on good infrastructure and DevOps practice.
- Coach and teach customers’ staff.
- Get hands-on with implementation either solo or as part of a small delivery team.
- Assist Cloud Architects to design Microsoft Azure architecture.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, business intelligence,
or a related field and experience in cloud solutions.
- 5-8+ years of related experience.
- Azure certification through Microsoft is required.
- Excellent working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Azure.
- Strong, first-hand experience in Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking, and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, Azure AD Proxy, SAML, and Active Directory Domain Services.
- Technical expertise in deployment and administration of Cloud IaaS / PaaS / SaaS services as related to Azure.
- Working knowledge of Azure Analytics features such as Stream Analytics, Machine Learning,
and Application Insights.
- Modeling and ETL knowledge with Erwin, Azure Databricks, Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure Synapse
- Develop and maintain system integrations using, Azure Logic Apps, Integration Services, Power Automate, PowerApps, etc.
- Microsoft Azure data platform experience with Power BI, Azure Data Lake, data warehouse, and Data Factory.
- Knowledge of migrating on-premises applications to Azure PaaS and Azure LaaS.
- Strong experience in Cloud deployments (Public & Private)
