IntroductionNORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS) DEPARTMENT: STUDENT FINANCE AND FINANCIAL RELATED SYSTEMS POSITION NUMBER: M000045 VACANCY: FINANCIAL OFFICER PEROMNES GRADE: P11 EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FIXED-TERM APPOINTMENTDuties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reconciliations of bank accounts

· Reconciliation of major bank deposit accounts: ABSA E-Commerce & ABSA Potchefstroom Campus account.

· Resolve reconciling items.

· Assist with other bank reconciliations.

Enquiry Administering

· Addressing general inquiries through telephone, email, and in-person at the counter.

· Proactively managing the generic email account.

· Ensuring timely responses to inquiries within a 48-hour timeframe.

Ad Hoc Tasks







· Assisting with ad hoc tasks in the line of duty as requested by line manager.

KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

· Accuracy.

· Attention to detail.

· Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail).

· Numerical Skills.

· Punctual.

KEY BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

· Ability to function in a team as well as independently.

· Time management and ability to work under pressure.

· Communication skills.

Desired Experience & Qualification

· Diploma/Advanced certificate (NQF Level 6) in Accounting.

· A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in reconciliations.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

ADDED ADVANTAGE:

· A minimum of one year administration experience in the banking industry.

REMUNERATION:

The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
