Introduction
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager CA(SA) to lead their accounting close and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting Close Management:
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to reconcile accounts, review journal entries, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies throughout the close process.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the preparation of statutory reports and collaborate with external auditors during audit cycles.
IFRS & Regulatory Adherence:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS standards and ensure correct application in all reporting.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and policies as required.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to internal stakeholders.
Forecasting & Analysis Support:
- Collaborate with FP&A; teams to ensure alignment between accounting close and financial forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis between actuals and budget to provide meaningful insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and dashboards, including financial KPIs.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Team Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team,
ensuring consistent improvement in processes and skills.
- Work closely with other departments and regional offices to provide financial guidance and support.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Qualified CA(SA).
- Proven experience in financial management, with a strong focus on accounting close and financial reporting.
- Expertise in IFRS and experience working with multinational companies.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
- Experience in managing external audits and statutory compliance processes.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Candidate must be available immediately and willing to work a fixed term project contract.
