All other parcel groups, fridge line and parcels not placed in a flyer, will be strapped.
Empty the contents of the tote box onto the workstation so that camera footage (camera above the packer station) can be recorded.
It is the responsibility of the Packer to ensure that the camera will have visibility of all items being packed and to record every step of the packing process. There may not be any obstruction that could lead to loss of visibility or non-recording of the process. The Packer must ensure that the patient's name on the paperwork corresponds with the name on all the medicine items.A tote box will contain the medication items, delivery note, and a QA label. Make sure that the patient name on the paperwork corresponds with the name on the medication labels.

The Packer must always check if there is a WIP note and read it to see if it is relevant to the Packer. The Packers must also execute any instruction on the WIP note that is applicable to them.
The delivery method is identified on the bar-coded delivery label stapled onto the paperwork. This will indicate the specific courier's flyer bag that needs to be selected where needed.
QA label indicates the number of items in the tote box. Compare the actual number of items in the tote box against the quantity stated on the QA label to make sure that all items are packed. It is the responsibility of the Packer to count items in the tote box and compare it with the number indicated on the top right-hand side of the bar-coded delivery label to ensure all medication is packed.

The Packer must write the item count quantity on the delivery note that came with the parcel.
Pack items and delivery note neatly into a cardboard box of appropriate size.
A pre-paid envelope must also be included that patients will use to send back their prescriptions to Medipost.
All glass bottles must be wrapped in bubble wrap before they are packed into the box.
Properly seal the box with cello tape, if needed. The QA label goes halfway over the top and halfway over the side as seen in the screenshot underneath. If this label is broken it will indicate that someone tampered with the parcel.

After the box is sealed the Packer will write their individual Packer code on the Bar Code Label and then scan the Barcode with the handheld scanner.Insert smaller boxes into the designated courier's flyer where required and seal the flyer.
Boxes for Medilogistics and PJV courier are not inserted in flyers.

Place the empty tote box on the conveyer to be transported to the empty Tote Holding area.
After this is done, the parcel will be placed onto the conveyer and it will move to the 'strapper' station. After it has been strapped it will be dispatched.

Fridge Line Parcels All items marked with a "fridge line" sticker will be packed in a fridge line box for the cold chain to be maintained between 2 – 8 degrees Celsius.A Fridge line parcel is identified by the white strip on the tote box; these boxes must be packed first.
The Packer must select the tote box from the conveyer or the allocated holding bay.

Packed boxes are placed on the conveyer to be strapped and dispatched.
Fridge line items will be wrapped once, with bubble wrap.

Two iced gel packs will be added on both sides of the item and be wrapped once more with bubble wrap. This will then be placed inside the polyurethane box. The other ambient items will be placed on top or on the side of the box depending on the box in use at that moment.
Important to note that a Fridge line item may never be in direct contact with the gel packs as in point 3.2 above.
Fridge parcels must be closed and secured with cello tape and placed onto the conveyer.
Double Dispensing From time to time the company will do a double dispensing, where there will be a two months' supply of medication sent to a patient with one delivery.
The QA Pharmacist will put a yellow or pink sticker on the first month's items for easy identification.

It is important that it must be indicated to the patient which items are for which month. This is done by dividing the medication items into month one and month two, as indicated by the QA Pharmacist. Month one and month two are then placed into separate bags. The packer will then attach a 'Month 1' or 'Month 2' sticker onto the two bags.
Both month one and month two bags will be placed into a cardboard box with an orange sticker stuck onto the lid of the box. When the box is opened it will be the first thing the patient sees and there will be a clear indication that the contents of the box are a two months' supply of medication and sealed as per point 2.
