A Procurement Officer is Needed for an Interior Design Company based in Sandton
An established Interior Designer Company specializing in High-end residential and commercial projects is looking for a procurement Officer to join their team.
Salary: R360 000 CTC P/A: Marekt related, depending on the Candidate's current salary, skills. qualifications, experience, etc.
Outline of Procurement officer Job Role
A Procurement officer is responsible to oversee purchasing activities and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The procurement officer’s responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, and maintaining accurate records.
Must have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends. Ultimately, a procurement officer must be able to negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma/Qualification in Procurement
- 5+ years of experience as a procurement officer in interior design would be advantageous or in a similar field.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Knowledge of compiling tender documents & tendering
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings from designers

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing all activities of the purchasing department.
- Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
- Control and monitor expenses against approved budget
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Ability to compile tender documents and to go out on tendering
- Payment terms negotiation, optimization and management
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Draft an appropriate service level agreement to properly evaluate the performance of the suppliers, and report on this on a regular basis
- Maintain contracts with suppliers
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior managers against procurement strategies and the associated cost savings.
