Position Type: Full Time
· Monday to Thursday:
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
12:30 PM - 4:30 PM
· Friday:
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
About the Role:
Valmet is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our Durban office on a temporary basis to cover the incumbent who will be going on maternity leave in February 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team in a multinational company known for its strong foundation and expertise in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Administrative Managing Director, you will:
· Perform accounting tasks to manage financial resources and ensure compliance with regulations and Valmet’s reporting requirements.
· Reconcile accounts and verify journal entries to maintain an accurate general ledger.
· Analyze financial data and prepare reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and regulatory filings.
· Provide technical accounting advice to managers to support revenue and expense forecasts and enhance understanding of financial reports.
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and office tools.
- Fluent in English.
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Experience with a leading auditing firm would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Capability to remain calm in urgent situations.
