The role involves configuring and customizing systems according to company specifications, building scalable applications, writing and modifying code, debugging software, and mentoring team members.To ensure success as a Systems Specialist, you should have extensive knowledge of MS Office software, Patricia software (ideally version 6.0 and upwards), proficiency with front-end programming languages (in particular SQL), and the ability to solve complex software issues. Ultimately,
a top-class Systems Specialist can create/configure robust and scalable applications that meet all company design and functionality requirements.Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn order to be considered, the following is required:Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software EngineeringPrevious experience working for a professional services firm, preferably in the legal industryExperience with a specialist IP law firm will be an advantagePrevious experience as a Software Specialist/DeveloperPrevious experience with the Patricia software as a Software Specialist/DeveloperA working knowledge of intellectual property assets such as patents, trademarks, and registered designs will be an advantageExtensive knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Frameworks (advantageous)Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML, JSON, jQuery, SQL Server, SharePoint, and Web Services (sub-set of these will be advantageous)High-level coding skillsPrior experience using, configuring,
and developing for Dynamics 365 is advantageousAbility to solve complex software issues in an effective mannerResponsibilities:Install, configure, repair, inspect, and commission hardware and software system components of a diverse technical natureIdentify the company's hardware, software, and data needs and make recommendations to leaders based on this informationManage technical documentation and system configuration filesEffectively communicate technical matters between the IT and legal/IP streamsUpgrade system to keep it up to datePlan preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on the systemConduct routine maintenance and services on the systemReport and document results after aforementioned actions have been completedGuide colleagues in service methods and use of tools-of-the-tradeShare own subject matter expertise to enable colleagues to expand their knowledgeMeet with the design team to review website and application requirementsSet tasks and development goalsAlign closely with the internal administrator and IP executives and actively participate in discussions towards improving efficiencies in the environmentAssist with the integration of and its deliverables with third-party software, including billing software and BI reporting softwareIntegrate with and maintain an active relationship with external support services, which may include additional training and participating in scheduled calls with the teamAssist and actively contribute to IP data validating and auditing processesConfigure company systems to specified requirementsDevelop new web components using XML, .NET, SQL, and C# (advantageous)Design, code, and implement scalable applicationsExtend SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologiesTest and debug codeReview website interface and software stabilityTroubleshoot software issuesMaintain and update applicationsProvide systems training to staff and customers, particularly to staff in the IP streamIf you would like to email your CV directly, please send it to ****** consider your application as unsuccessful if you have not received a response within 14 days of submitting your application.
