Position Overview:
The Agricultural Banking & Monitoring Support Manager will oversee the Agricultural Specialist team, providing agricultural expertise to the Banking and Risk Management Divisions. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of the loan book and mitigating potential risks associated with agricultural financing.
Key Performance Areas:
- Team Management: Lead and support the regional Agricultural Specialist team, ensuring timely and high-quality expert inputs for transaction assessments and due diligence.
- Guidance and Support: Provide guidance on agricultural norms and standards, utilizing assessment tools (e.g., BF90, cash flow models) to enhance the Bank's credit assessment processes.
- Strategic Management:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives to promote agricultural growth and manage risks effectively.
- Agricultural Banking: Oversee collections, workouts, and restructuring of agricultural loans.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support.
- Budget and People Management: Manage regional budgets and oversee personnel, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with organizational goals.
- Financial Management: Conduct financial analysis and ensure compliance with agricultural credit and finance management practices.
Preferred Minimum Education and Experience:
- Honours Degree in Agricultural Economics or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in the agricultural sector, including sectoral research, project assessments, enterprise viability evaluations, and risk assessment.
- Expertise in agricultural value chains and their application to promote growth and development.
- Experience in agricultural credit and finance management.
- Proven track record in people and budget management.
Critical Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management principles and compliance systems/tools.
- Familiarity with compliance management principles and related legislation.
- Understanding of business operations, processes, and financial management principles.
- Strong financial analysis skills and customer service orientation.
