Ogilvy South Africa is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Head Office Finance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process for a portfolio of smaller companies, assisting the Financial Accountant with various reconciliations and journal entries, and providing administrative support for company secretarial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close Process:
- Prepare and post journal entries for assigned companies.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and reports.
- Assist with month end reporting submission.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end tasks.
- Financial Accounting Support:
- Assist the Financial Accountant with bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting tasks.
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Company Secretarial Assistance:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of company secretarial documents.
- Complete and submit various forms and applications.
- Maintain statutory records and registers.
- Trust Accounting:
- Process month-end accounting entries for various trusts.
- Reconcile trust accounts and prepare related reports and management packs.
Other Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the Finance Team as needed.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks.
- Experience:
- Minimum Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject.
- Previous experience as a Junior Accountant or in a similar role is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Other Requirements:
- Own reliable transportation.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Commitment to working from the office.
