Reference: NWI002093-Nikki-1I am a specialist in the Banking Sector into various countries in Africa. I am always on the look out for good talent such as a COO. Positions would be in various countries and expats are welcome!
Role's Purpose:They will be a key member of the senior management team, reporting only to the CEO. The goal of the COO position is to secure the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:

Oversee daily operations of the bank including IT, HR, Regulatory Compliance, Customer Service, and other departments.
Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures.
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.






Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.

Leadership and Team Development:

Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
Manage relationships with partners/vendors.

Financial Oversight:

Assist CEO in fundraising ventures.
Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.).
Manage the operational budget and perform regular financial analysis to maintain cost-efficiency.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and standards.
Develop and implement risk management strategies.
Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently liaising with regulatory bodies.

Customer Focus:

Enhance customer satisfaction through the improvement of service delivery.
Develop strategies to expand the customer base and increase customer engagement.

Strategic Planning:







Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the banking industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven experience as a COO or in other managerial positions.
Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, sales.
In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.

Skills:







Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
Familiarity with Tanzanian banking regulations and compliance.
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Effective communication and people skills.

Personal Attributes:

Strategic thinker with an eye for detail.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
Innovative and forward-thinking and excited about digital transformation.
