Introduction
This senior role is for an established group of companies in the Logistics business of Container Depots and expansion into other areas of logistics.
We invite candidates that have excellent technical and problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to work, impeccable judgment, and a proven track record in getting things done.
The role involves maintaining accounting records, financial management, budgeting, reporting, analysis, to maintain a strong and effective finance department that enables and supports the business.

1. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel ( candidate will be tested in interview stage for Graphs / Pivots and V-Lookups)

1. Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with IFRS
2.
Ensure that financial risks are identified and effectively managed through theimplementation and monitoring of appropriate accounting procedures (aligned with IFRS),
3. Sound internal controls and good governance structures
4. In collaboration with the Directors, prepare the organisation’s consolidated annual budget, aswell as, prepare the half year review and forecast
5. Prepare timeous and accurate financial reports for submission to the resident Directors, executivemanagement team and the non resident Board of Directors
6. Undertake audit preparations to ensure an efficient, effective, and successful audit process
7. Ensure that audit findings are timeously resolved, prior to the commencement of the nextyear’s audit
8. Ensure that the organisation’s core finances are managed and accounted for in aneffective and transparent manner
9.
Review the effectiveness of the accounting and reporting systems on an ongoing basis, toidentify areas for enhancement or improvement
10. Prepare relevant and accurate monthly management accounts for submission to therelevant stakeholders including the Directors, executive management team, as well as addressany queries raised
11. Oversee the full accounting functions including the income statement, accountsreceivable, accounts payable and all assets for all subsidiaries.
12. Oversee the full payroll function
13. Manage compliance with all relevant SARS registrations and requirements(monthly, bi-annually, and annually)
14. Manage compliance with all relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirements including all secretarial resolutions.

Effectively manage all cash flows to meet the organisational needs
16. Liaise and manage the existing relationship with the organisation’s bankers
17. Review all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments
18. Ensure that all source documents are appropriately filed, and files are properly labelled to facilitate the easy retrieval of documents
1. A B.Com in Financial Accounting or Financial Management
And / Or Completed articles with an accredited audit firm
And / Or Membership with either SAICA, ACCA or CIMA would be advantageous
2. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a core finance environment
3.Minimum of 3 years management experience (people and/or otherwise)
The company offers a good remuneration package commensurate to industry standards.
Candidates can expect to earn above their current package if employed and if found suitable for the position.
