Our client in the Hospitality and Culinary industry, is currently looking for a Pizza Chef de Partie, in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
- Prepare and cook a variety of artisanal pizzas, focusing on high-quality ingredients, innovative toppings, and exceptional presentation.
- Master pizza dough preparation and ensure consistency in crust quality, including handling wood-fired or specialized pizza ovens (if applicable).
- Manage mise-en-place for the pizza section, ensuring that all ingredients (dough, sauces, toppings) are prepped and ready for service.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and refine the pizza menu, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant's fine dining bistro-style concept.
- Ensure that pizzas are cooked to order, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation during service.
- Train and guide Junior Kitchen Staff on pizza-making techniques and proper station setup.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient pizza section, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels of pizza-related ingredients and work with the kitchen management to order supplies as needed.
- Experiment with seasonal and local ingredients to create innovative pizza toppings that elevate the guest experience.
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service and maintain consistency throughout the menu.
- Culinary Diploma or Formal Chef Training from an Accredited Institution.
- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or Chef de Partie in a fine dining or high-end bistro setting.
- Expertise in pizza dough making, fermentation processes, and cooking in wood-fired or stone ovens.
- Passion for creating artisanal pizzas with a focus on quality ingredients and innovative flavours.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your section independently.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
- Team player with good communication skills and a desire to contribute to a collaborative kitchen environment.
- Up to R13 000 CTC per month.
- Training and mentorship from experienced Chefs.
