Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Food and Beverage Staffing Supervisor to lead the recruitment, scheduling, and management of our kitchen, banqueting, and restaurant staff. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in hospitality, coupled with exceptional organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the food and beverage industry. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal staffing levels, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the smooth operation of all food and beverage services across our client` establishment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Staffing and Scheduling:

- Develop and manage staff schedules for the kitchen, banqueting, and restaurant departments,





ensuring that adequate coverage is maintained for all services and events.
- Monitor daily staffing needs and adjust schedules based on business demands, including managing last-minute staff shortages or changes.
- Coordinate with department heads and management teams to ensure that staffing aligns with service requirements for peak hours, events, and special occasions.

- Recruitment and Onboarding:

- Lead the recruitment process for all food and beverage roles, including chefs, waitstaff, bartenders, and support staff.
- Conduct interviews, manage hiring decisions, and oversee the onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are fully trained on company policies, service standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Work closely with HR to ensure smooth and efficient hiring processes.

- Staff Training and Development:

- Facilitate continuous training programs, including induction training for new staff and ongoing skill development for existing team members.






- Ensure all staff are trained in health and safety, hygiene, and food handling protocols.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, promoting professional growth and fostering a positive work culture.

- Performance Management:

- Monitor staff performance regularly, providing feedback, guidance, and support to ensure high standards are met.
- Address any performance issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Conduct performance reviews and offer opportunities for staff to improve their skills or advance within the company.

- Event and Banqueting Support:

- Work closely with the events and banqueting teams to ensure the appropriate staffing for all functions, including corporate events, weddings, and large gatherings.






- Assist in the planning and execution of large-scale events, ensuring staff are prepared and briefed on event details and guest expectations.
- Be present during major events to oversee staffing logistics and address any issues that arise.

- Operational Efficiency:

- Collaborate with kitchen and restaurant managers to streamline operations, ensuring that the front and back of house teams work together seamlessly.
- Ensure that all food and beverage services meet or exceed guest expectations in terms of quality, timing, and service.
- Manage the allocation of resources, ensuring that staff are deployed efficiently across the establishment.

- Health, Safety, and Compliance:

- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling, hygiene standards,





and fire safety protocols.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to maintain a safe and legally compliant working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and staff briefings to ensure all team members are aware of their responsibilities.

- Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, performance, training, and payroll information.
- Prepare reports for senior management on staffing levels, performance, and any issues or concerns that need addressing.
- Manage budgets for staffing, ensuring that resources are used efficiently without compromising service quality.

Requirements:

- Experience:





Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within the food and beverage or hospitality industry, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of kitchen, restaurant, and banqueting operations, with a solid knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with staff, management, and clients.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during peak business periods.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to think on your feet,





address challenges proactively, and resolve staff or operational issues quickly.
- Compliance: Understanding of health and safety regulations in food service, including food hygiene standards.
- Matric, Drivers License, Clear Crim Record
