Job Summary:
We are looking for a Head Chef to join our team at CoFi Centurion. In this role, you will oversee every aspect of kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of top-quality dishes while managing costs effectively. Responsibilities include menu creation, food preparation, staff leadership, and maintaining strict food safety standards. The ideal candidate should be passionate about culinary excellence, possess strong leadership abilities, and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development
Create and update menus with seasonal ingredients, catering to customer preferences and current trends.
Ensure that the menu is innovative, cost-effective,
and aligned with the restaurant's vision and target market.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to develop wine pairings and special event menus.
Food Preparation and Quality Control:
Oversee the preparation of dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation.
Ensure that all dishes are cooked according to recipes and customer specifications.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in the kitchen.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, and manage the kitchen team, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen porters.
Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous development of the staff.
Create staff schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet demand.
Inventory and Budget Management:
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage supplier relationships to ensure the availability of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Control food costs and waste through effective portion control and stock management.
Work with management to develop and adhere to the kitchen budget.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP, food hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of the kitchen to ensure safety procedures are being followed.
Keep accurate records of food safety practices and kitchen maintenance.
Customer Experience:
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure that customer feedback is addressed and service standards are maintained.
Participate in events, promotions, and special functions to showcase the restaurants culinary offerings.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment, food production, and health & safety regulations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Creative and innovative approach to menu design.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Financial acumen and the ability to manage a kitchen budget.
Passion for food and a commitment to delivering outstanding dishes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with diverse cuisines.
Knowledge of wine and food pairings.
Familiarity with modern cooking techniques and equipment.
