Introduction
Leading manufacturer and supplier of blinds and window coverings, situated in Cornubia, Durban seeks a Junior Financial Accountant to join their busy team.
Must have an accounting Degree and at least 3 years' experience in financial management and control.
Role would suit a candidate who has completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
Note that the hours are Monday - Thursday 07h00 - 16h30, Friday 07h00 - 16h00.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the accounting department
- Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts and computer printouts
- Controlling creditors, debtors, cashbooks and petty cash
- Checking general ledger
- Monthly recons
- VAT returns, EMP returns, journal entries
- Assist with preparation and processing of payroll
- Fixed assets and capital expenditure
- Prepare and maintain Fixed Asset Register
- Stock control and ordering
- Compile financial year-end schedules for audit
Desired Experience & Qualification
- B.Com Degree (in accounting)
- At least 3 years' experience in financial management and control
- Proficient on Pastel Evolution / Partner, Excel and Word
- SAIPA or SAICA articles is an advantage
