Our client is a well-established leader in the mining industry, recognized for delivering large-scale projects across the globe. They are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their team. This role offers the chance to lead complex structural projects that support critical mining operations, making a lasting impact on the industry.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, analysis, and implementation of structural engineering solutions within the mining environment. You’ll lead a team of engineers and collaborate with other departments to ensure the integrity and safety of structures such as foundations,
processing plants, conveyors, and mining infrastructure. This is a key leadership position, ideal for someone with extensive experience in heavy industry and a deep understanding of structural dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of structural projects, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform advanced structural analysis and calculations to ensure the stability, strength, and durability of mining infrastructure.
- Manage project teams, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and oversee contractors to ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
- Conduct structural assessments, risk analysis, and inspections on existing and new structures.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, including ASCE, AISC, and local building regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and leadership within the engineering team.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, reports,
and presentations for clients and senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on heavy industry, mining, or similar sectors.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ANSYS) and design tools.
- Proficiency in relevant standards and codes (e.g., ASCE, AISC, BS).
- Demonstrated project management experience, including overseeing teams and contractors.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
