Purpose of the position:
The Procurement Officer will be working closely with the Procurement Team to provide administrative support in procuring all the products required by the business for all the Company sites. The incumbent will be responsible for effective monitoring and record keeping of all tasks related to Procurement support.
Key responsibilities:
Administrative support:
- Facilitate obtaining of high-quality goods and services as the support team for the business
- Create purchase orders, provide updates for the Team, and update relevant databases
- Perform routine administrative tasks for their office or department as well
Stock Control:
- Creation of buyouts
- Receipting of stock for the Durban site and monitor the receipting done in the Pietermaritzburg site
- Assist the Team in monitoring the stock levels and stock movement
- Manage the inter-site process
- Monitoring all inter-site stock needs created and ensure actioned timeously
Supplier Interaction:
- Assist and support the Team on all follow ups on deliveries and Query management
- Quality Management issues to be resolved
- Research and follow-up on missing items overdue and other issues
Procurement processes:
- Quality
- Price Analysis and comparison
- Lead Time
- Stock vs Buyout
Reporting:
- Reporting on all required Basic data kept within the Procurement function
- Be an active member on Weekly and/or Biweekly engagements and meetings with the
- Team
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience in the Procurement administrative function
- Understanding of the Buying and sourcing process
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or another related discipline will be an added advantage
- Pro-Active,
shows initiative to ensure and comply with the Procurement processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook and SAGE X3
- Good Team-player
- Effective Time Management and turn-around time on all deliverables and outstanding items
