The new Sponsorship Sales Manager is responsible for developing the company sales strategy, networking, building and nurturing relationships with CMO's, Marketing Directors, CEOs and Brand Managers across the industry and most importantly, selling the organisations products and closing sponsorship deals.
The organisaton owns 4 strategic branded event/festival assets
("products') and in addition the organisation partners on various prestigious and sizeable well known events. In future, additional branded events may be added. From time to time the organisation also partners with brands to create products in partnerships .
Sponsorship Sales Executive will lead responsibility in the sale of these partnerships as well.
The Sponsorship Sales Manager is required to proactively and zealously develop and establish new corporate business, maintain key relationships with existing clients and sell
the organisations products to both.
In addition to this, the SSM is required to inform the business of market trends relating to organisations products, and continually innovate in this space to keep the organisations offering relevant. The SSM is a premium brand ambassador to the organisation at all times.
The Sponsorship Sales Manager: Sponsorships, partnerships, products include:
- Required to sell the organisation Products to a primarily Corporate Market.
- Target customers include banks, insurers, alcohol and sin tax brands, mobile networks, mobile OEM and other brandfs looking to benefit from marketing.
- Be knowledgeable on festivals, music events and award-winning campaigns in SA.
- The SM will be required to present con?dently to large audiences as well as
to individuals. (Presentation Skills and public speaking con?dence).
- Lead a weekly sales meeting with CEO, product heads, snd support sales staff.
- Work in partnership with the sales leads from the partnered products
- Work closely with 3rd party agencies.
- Regular new client and existing client meetings / hungry sales ability and drive
- Brief and work with the production department to plan, ideate and design creative campaign for clients.
- Required to travel to other regions from time to time to conduct workshops, presentations and sales pitches.
Skills:
- A degree or diploma in Sales / Marketing / Commerce preferential
- 5 to 8 years experienc in sales of events, advertising, media or marketing solutions will be an advantage
- Existing relationships with clients at senior levels will be an advantage
- Strong experience in group facilitation and boardroom presentations
- Apple Mac skills in Keynote especially a huge plus.
- Previous experience using a CRM system.
- Proven ability to learn vast quantities of material in a short period of time.
- Creative and strategic ability in developing solutions for clients.
- Candidates from top advertising agencies or media houses may have an advantage
