Vacancy: Group Legal Advisor / HR Manager
Introduction:
An established organisation in the retail sector, located in Pretoria is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join the team as a Group Legal Advisor/HR Manager. This unique role offers the chance to make a significant impact by overseeing both legal compliance and human resources functions, contributing to the company's growth and operational success.
Job Purpose:
The Group Legal Advisor/HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring the organisation adheres to legal standards and regulations while also managing HR activities that support the company's workforce. This includes providing legal guidance, mitigating risks,
and fostering a positive workplace culture through effective HR practices and policies.
Requirements:
Minimum Education (Essential)
- Bachelor of laws (LLB)
Additional Education (Desirable)
- HR related degree/diploma
Minimum applicable experience (years)
- 5 – 10 years working experience
Main Duties will include:
HR
- Employee Relations: Provide advice and support on HR issues to employees and management, in keeping with HR practices and culture.
- Industrial Relations: Ensure the company disciplinary code and policies comply with all statutory Acts, advising management on disciplinary code and procedures. Deal with Bargaining Council and unions a pre-requisite.
- Recruitment and Retention: Taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity.
- HR administrative system: Maintain an effective system, including employment contracts, relevant reporting, and ensure proper operation of all HR processes.
- Training and Development: Identify needs, implement suitable programs, evaluate outcomes, develop and compile ATR and WSP,
FPandM Seta liaison, employee induction programs. Facilitate and co-ordinate Learnership and Skills programs and administrate all Seta funding and documentation.
- Company Policies and Procedures: Ensuring all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with legislation.
- Employment Equity: Update EE Plan and Reports, EE committee meetings and submissions to Dept of Labour.
- Attending to submission of injuries on duty.
- Attending to submission of Annual return due to the compensation fund.
- Attending to CCMA matters
Legal:
- Advice and assist with all legal matter for all companies in the group would be a major role.
- Attend to drafting of legal opinions
- Attending to drafting and reviewing of contracts.
- Attend to legal advice regarding BCEA
- Attending to the board meetings at Zwartkloof Private Game Reserve (HOA)
- Attending to issuing and filling off CIPC documentation
- Ensure compliance in terms of the Companies Act
General duties:
- Overseeing the payroll function
- Office manager at head office
- Non-Executive director at Zwartkloof Private Game Reserve
- Travel nationally will be required from time to time.
Other
- Proficient in Afrikaans
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license
- Salary: Market Related
