We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Warehouse & Logistics Manager to lead our Midrand warehouse team and ensure smooth, efficient operations. This role involves overseeing warehouse supervisors and managing a team of over 20 employees, including drivers, ensuring that productivity targets are met, and all processes run effectively. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, and deliveries, and managing all warehouse activities. This includes ensuring products are correctly picked, packed, wrapped, stored, and loaded for delivery. Additionally, the role requires oversight of property maintenance, asset management,
and security measures.
We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be performance-driven, customer-service-oriented, and able to lead a team with initiative and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee and ensure timely, efficient, and accurate order fulfillment.
- Manage all operational aspects of the warehouse, including receiving, inventory management, drivers, and dispatch.
- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services
- Full stock control and always ensuring stock integrity
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Maximize space utilization and manage all warehouse equipment, ensuring maintenance and budget compliance.
- Monitor and drive the continuous improvement of operational processes.
- Maintain service levels and meet daily operational targets.
Staff Management
- Lead, coach,
and develop the warehouse team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Plan staff capacity to meet productivity demands and ensure effective timekeeping and absenteeism processes.
- Manage performance reviews, staff appearance, and take disciplinary action as needed.
- Create a positive team culture focused on growth and development.
Customer and Supplier Relations
- Ensure customer service levels are met in a cost-effective manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers, building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Coordinate with transportation companies to ensure timely deliveries.
Property and Asset Management
- Maintain high housekeeping standards, both inside the warehouse and on external premises.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of all company assets, including vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Manage company assets such as furniture, tools, and computers, and oversee rented equipment or vehicles.
Security
- Enforce security policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
- Investigate security breaches and take appropriate corrective actions.
General
- Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Continuously seek to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse management, including dispatch, receiving, and stock control.
- At least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Strong skills in presentation, report writing, and data analysis.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
- Experience with Pastel accounting or similar systems.
- High energy levels and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Proven experience in stock management, stock integrity, and stock control.
Salary: R30k to R40k a month depending on experience, plus we sponsor part of medical aid, retirement annuity, after 3 months of employment.
