We are currently seeking motivated, innovative, and dedicated Junior SOC Analysts to join our 24x7 SOC team in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) to ensure the growth and development of our Cybersecurity Services Team.You will be part of a Global SOC team, working with both mainstream manufacturers and niche players. It could be required from the position to join a 24x7 shift pattern, working shifts and/or be on standby when required.Key ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of a Junior SOC Analyst include, but are not limited to:Contributing towards Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the SOC team and use cases for monitoring and handling different types of security eventsThreat intelligence gathering to ensure detection methods are effective against current threatsMonitoring alert queues, responding to security alerts and incidents.Contributing towards the vulnerability management process and ensure vulnerabilities are remediated within SLAEnsure that vulnerability management tools are deployed appropriately, that results are accurate and remediation activities appropriately prioritisedManage and configure security toolsets to ensure optimal use and coverageManage cybersecurity incidents through to resolutionWork with both internal and external partners to investigate, remediate, and clean up after security incidentsPrepare detailed intelligence reports,





providing information on findings, status and progress of investigations, as well as vulnerability and risk factorsHelp drive forward good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.Demonstrable Experienced RequiredExperience of working in a SOC / CSIRT or equivalentThorough OS knowledge across Windows and LinuxAdequate networking experienceDealing with third parties and instructing them on findingsIncident Management and escalation processExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience implementing leading best practice proceduresExperience of working as part of a global team, both internally and via 3rd partiesUnderstanding of malware capabilities, attack vectors,





propagation and impact.Preferred technology experience: XDR/EDR, Automation, SIEM, IDS/IPSGood understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001Knowledge of system administration, scripting and operating system hardening techniquesStrong analytical skills with the ability to assess cyber risks and develop effective mitigation plansThe PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Junior SOC Analyst:Detail-oriented, process-oriented and thoroughFlexible and open to change and dynamic responsibilitiesExcellent IT literacy (hardware and software), a passion and curiosity for IT and cybersecurity topics, and the desire to learn and build their career with usExcellent problem-solving abilities; analysing issues, determining root cause,
