Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our organisation, ensuring operational excellence and driving crucial fundraising initiatives to sustain and grow our services.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Leadership & Management: Provide strategic leadership and oversee daily operations to ensure the continued success of Stellenbosch Hospice.
- Fundraising & Development: Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure financial support from a variety of sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, grant funding and fundraising events.
- Community Engagement: Act as the primary ambassador for Stellenbosch Hospice, building relationships with stakeholders, the local community,





and other healthcare providers.
- Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and volunteers to ensure high standards of patient care and support services.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure that the organisation complies with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Strategic Planning: Lead the development of long-term strategies to expand and improve hospice services in alignment with our mission.

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Proven leadership experience in the healthcare, non-profit, or related sector.
- A strong track record in fundraising, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant bodies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.






- A deep commitment to palliative care and the values of Stellenbosch Hospice.
- Familiarity with the healthcare sector and non-profit management in South Africa is highly desirable.
