Introduction
Our client in the financial services sector is seeking a Senior SAP Finance Solution Architect for an onsite role in Bellville, Cape Town.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform solution architecture functions across different domains (Business, Information, Data, Application, Technology & Security).
- Work alongside the enterprise architect to ensure solutions conform to our client enterprise goals, standards, and governance frameworks, and are fit-for-purpose from both business and technical perspectives.
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate them into a solution architecture to be implemented.
- Research new solutions to address specific or general business problems.
- Design and document solution architecture, including integration, to meet identified business and technical requirements.
- Provide subject matter and solution design expertise within the SAP Finance Solutions (SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Insurance Analyzer, SAP GRC, SAP Data Services, etc.).
Report to the SAP Enterprise Architect within the SAP Centre of Expertise (CoE)
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Engage business and technical stakeholders to elicit goals, objectives, priorities, and requirements.
- Translate business and technical requirements into a solution architecture for implementation.
- Design and validate complex solution architectures to address business and technical requirements and ensure successful implementation.
- Design solution integration architecture to ensure successful implementation.
- Research new solutions for specific or general business problems.
- Provide solution advisory, recommendations, and guidance on the SAP Finance platforms.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and architecture definition of the client SAP Finance landscape.
- Understand and interpret the business processes for which the solution architecture is being developed.
- Influence business and IT strategies to ensure collaborative alignment.
- Contribute to building Sanlam SAP Finance technical and application roadmaps for both on-prem and cloud environments.
- Provide guidance in the SAP Finance landscape system migration or upgrades.
- Document the overall Solution Architecture and integration with other systems in line with our lient Enterprise and Solution Architecture standards and practices.
- Present solutions architecture to different cleint's forums, including the client Architecture Solutions Evaluation & Review forum.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent: minimum requirement.
Knowledge
- Designing and validating complex SAP solutions architecture.
- Ability to identify and challenge solution scenarios by considering the business environment.
- Provide recommendations and guidance on the SAP platform and tools.
- Knowledge of integrating SAP solutions into various technologies and architectures.
- Knowledge of SAP system migration or upgrades.
- IT Strategic planning and execution.
- Systems thinking and holistic approach to solution analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, security, and systems engineering.

Experience
- 7+ years of SAP Finance Solution Architecture experience
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Insurance Analyzer, SAP GRC, SAP Data Services, etc.
- Architecture knowledge and/or certification (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) required
- Cloud architecture experience will be beneficial
