Relationships of the job:

Daily interaction with Production staff on preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, corrective and improvement maintenance and improvement projects. Interaction with Quality staff on performance of machines and equipment. Attendance of daily operations meetings when required. As required interaction with Procurement Officer on procurement of spares and consumables and receiving stores staff. As required interaction with Admin and Finance department for purchase orders and invoicing.
When required to be involved with internal and external audits.

As required interaction with suppliers, contractors and any other vendor with regards to maintenance spares, fabrication and projects.

- Ensure buildings are maintained including painting as required
- Repairs as requested by HODs
- Assign labour to tidy site as required
- In conjunction with Maintenance Engineer plan preventive maintenance schedules on production equipment
- Allocate maintenance and repair tasks to subordinates and supervise work on a daily basis
- With subordinates carry out preventive maintenance as per schedules
- Repair breakdowns as a priority to minimise production down time
- Ensure records for all maintenance and repair jobs are completed for inclusion into history files of all production equipment
- Assist Maintenance Engineer with any special tasks (such as installation and commissioning of new equipment) as required.
- Ensure all employees comply fully with Section 14 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act: General duties of employees at work
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you and your subordinates are familiar with the above section. A copy can be requested from the OHS Manager. Copies of the act are also available electronically on the Company's home page.
Summaries of the act are displayed throughout all departments in the Company.
