Shemax Engineering cc is a South Africa based company founded in 2004. The company was acquired from Lisberg Engineering cc to compliment the group portfolio and respond to emerging opportunities. We are currently based in Vulcania, Brakpan and we specialise in the manufacture and supply of new and reconditioned underground Locomotive and Hopper Wheel Assemblies and parts as well as Granby Car Wheels, Coco pan Wheels and General engineering. Although Shemax Engineering cc was found in 2004 the expertise within the company is based on being in the market for over 20 years. We also specialise in Sprocket and Spur Gear Cutting of different sizes.







Shemax Engineering is seeking a skilled Vertical Boring Mill Turner & Manual Milling Machine Operator to join our team.

Vertical Boring Mill Turner

- Will be reporting to the Operations Manager & must be able to work with other workshop staff of all ethnic groups.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to do problem solving by him/herself.
- Complete Machining of Gear Castings to finishing sizes up to 900mm.
- Complete Machining of Underground Locomotive tyres up to size of 950mm.

Manual Milling Machine

- Will be reporting to the Operations Manager & must be able to work with other workshop staff of all ethnic groups.
- Must be self-motivated & be able to do problem solving by him/herself .
- Machining of Keyways on shafts.
- Machining of Hexagon on Workpieces.(Meaning Be able to use dividing head)
- Machining With Different Milling Cutters .

Vertical Boring Mill Turner

- Experience minimum of 5 years experience on Manual Vertical Boring Mill (36 “ Webster & Bennet)
- Must be able to read engineering drawings .
- Must be able to work to close tolerances.






- Must be able to read & write.
- Must be able to Speak and Understand English.
- Must be able to set up machine by himself .
- Grade 12 will be minimum School qualifications.

Manual Milling Machine

- Experience minimum of 5 years experience on Manual Milling Machine.
- Must be able to read engineering drawings .
- Must be able to work to close tolerances .
- Must be able to read & write.
- Must be able to Speak and understand English.
- Must be able to operate the machine.
- Grade 12 Will be minimum school qualifications .
