Key Responsibilities
- VDI Infrastructure Design:
- Design and architect VDI environments based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for VDI infrastructure components and processes.
- Evaluate and select appropriate hardware, software, and networking components for VDI deployments.
- VDI Implementation:
- Deploy and configure VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual machines, and desktop operating systems.
- Integrate VDI with existing IT infrastructure, such as Active Directory, network storage, and load balancers.
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and stability.
- VDI Management and Optimization:
- Monitor and manage VDI performance, including CPU, memory, storage, and network utilization.
- Identify and resolve VDI performance issues and bottlenecks.
- Implement optimization strategies to improve VDI scalability and user experience.
- VDI Security:
- Ensure the security of the VDI environment by implementing appropriate security measures, such as access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- VDI Support:
- Provide technical support for VDI users and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve VDI-related issues.
- Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in VDI infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and load balancing.
- Experience with desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional - Desktop Virtualization, Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization) is preferred.
