A Specialist in Mineral Processing Solutions, which is based in the North-West province, within Klerksdorp is recruiting for an experienced and skilled Project Engineer/ Project Manager
Experience
- The successful incumbent must possess at least two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in coordinating and understanding different engineering disciplines and project management.
Formal qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil) or related field is preferred
- High proficiency in Microsoft Projects
- Certifications in project management or related areas will be an added advantage
- Fluent in English
- Valid driving license code 08
- Own transport
Special conditions
- Relocation to Klerksdorp is essential
- The successful incumbent must be willing to travel and to work outside of South African borders for prolonged periods of time
- The successful incumbent should have a valid passport
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.
- Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
- Prepare, schedule,
coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, quality related policies, performance standards and specifications
- Daily interaction with clients to determine, interpret and implement their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
- Taking control of entire project (budget, schedule, plans, staff performance, financial status) and provide regular reports to relevant stakeholders
- Assign responsibilities to team members
- Coaching and mentoring the team members
- Review deliverables and initiate corrective action if need be
Inherent requirements for the position
- High proficiency in MS Projects
- Proficiency in project administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
with the ability to convey technical information
- Technical writing skills for project documentation, reports and proposals
- Foundational knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
- Experience in coordinating and understanding different engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality assurance
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals and milestones
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and external partners
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and platforms used in project management and engineering tasks
