Head of Group Reporting

Job Purpose:

Reporting directly into Head of Finance and heavy matrix to Hollard Group CFO. The Head of Reporting, Tax and Transformation is responsible for management and statutory reporting, Transformation and Tax, for the Life, Short term and Group Companies as well as providing technical support to the finance function and business units. Coordinate and manage the group reporting function including management and statutory reporting, including providing guidance to business unit finance on inputs required for reporting, accounting standards updates, and technical assistance where needed. Coordinate and manage the Group tax function in line with the Tax governance framework. Responsible for developing, implementing,





and maintaining tax risk policy and managing tax risks through sound controls and processes within the function and group. Ensure that all Group Companies comply with tax law and regulations. Support internal stakeholders on business related tax matters and manage external stakeholders with regard to regulatory standards. Coordinate and manage the Transformation team, including management of the annual verification audit, guidance to business units in terms of criteria to be met to achieve targeted scores for Transformation elements. Driving processes with all stakeholders to ensure that the Group Goal for Transformation is met.

Responsible for the development of all team members and capability of these functions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting requirements of the Hollard group

- Provide strategic financial support in assessing business performance by monitoring the key regulatory risks, including insurance ratios,





insurance reserving and other governance and risk management practices

- Perform portfolio reviews in terms of business unit financial results, track KPI’s provide comments and insights

- Manage the preparation of the monthly and quarterly Group financial reports, Board packs and Exco packs

- Provide Finance leadership on Process Efficiency, Business Performance Measures and Management, Analytical Support and Predictive Analysis

- Ensure financial controls are designed, implemented, and managed within the financial reporting environment

- Management of Group wide Planning and forecasting process across the Hollard Group

- Provide technical accounting support to business units and drive implementation of technical standards in Hollard Group







- Research of changes to statutory and regulatory reporting requirements and responsible for the development of Hollard actions in response to the changes in particular to IFRS17

- Manage the External audit relationship, coordinate the audit process as well as deliverables to Audit Committee

- Manage the preparation of the consolidated Annual Financial Statements

- Coordinate regulatory reporting from a finance perspective (SAM and SARB)

- Drive balance sheet management across the Group

- Custodian of Hollard Group General ledger and Reporting tools

- Management and oversight of the tax function and deliverables, as well as enable the delivery of the group wide tax strategy

- Tax planning to ensure tax efficiency for transactions across the Group,





including international territories

- Managing tax compliance for the Group (Income tax, VAT, Dividends Withholding Taxes and FATCA tax returns and payments to SARS)

- Understand Hollard Group’s tax exposure in relation to Group structures

- Effective management of SARS and all related queries

- Management of external stakeholders (such as National Treasury, SARS, Industry bodies etc.) in contributing to the formulation of national tax policy and ensuring that the Group's interests are advocated, protected, and advanced

- Liaise with internal and external audit for Tax related queries

- Management and oversight of the transformation deliverables, as well as support the delivery of the group transformation scorecards







- Engaging with business where applicable to provide support to achieve target scores for all elements.

- Driving the achievement of targeted levels

- Engagement with verification agents and other stakeholders to understand changes in the Transformation landscape
