We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager for our Road Transport Operations. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our transportation services, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance while driving operational excellence.
You will lead a team of professionals to deliver outstanding service to our clients, optimize fleet performance, and manage budgets effectively.
Key responsibilities :
Leadership and Management :
Lead the transport operations team and develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
Operations Oversight :
Oversee daily operations of road transport, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and service delivery timelines
Budget :
Prepare and manage the annual budget for road transport operations, ensuring financial targets are met
Financial Management :
Analyze financial data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
Compliance :
Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies
Stakeholder Relations :
Build and maintain strong relationships with Transporters and other stakeholders, ensure prompt resolutions to queries
Reporting :
Prepare regular reports on operational performance, financial metrics, and project updates for senior management
Minimum requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Proven experience (5+ years) in road transport operations management, with a strong track record of leadership
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel,
including advanced functions like pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
