As a leading retail brand in South Africa, the Cape Union Mart Group is synonymous with adventure and quality. Nestled within the heart of Cape Town, our in-house Creative Studio within the Marketing Department is where the magic happens.
We're looking for a creative Copywriter with no less than 2 years of traditional advertising agency experience.





This is a permanent position with a blend of four days in office and one day of remote work to fuel your creativity. You'll be writing copy for digital, ATL, and BTL elements on iconic brands such as Cape Union Mart, K-Way, Old Khaki, and Poetry.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities

Write creative copy on premium brands, across elements ranging from marketing emailers and social media to videos, in-store elements, paid media, events, and more.
Brainstorm concepts and ideas with the creative team.
Write fresh copy that connects with our audience and drives action.
Craft copy and content according to the brief, the brand, and creative idea.
Roll out creative ideas across multiple platforms and media.
Assist with proofreading copy.
Collaborate with Art Directors and Graphic Designers, plus the Marketing, Ecomm, and Merchandise teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload, often requiring short turnaround times.






Able to vary the voice and style of messaging based on the brand and audience.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required

Must have no less than 2 years of traditional advertising agency experience as a copywriter (preferably 2 – 5 years of total copywriting experience).
Must have a copywriting portfolio of work (we're especially looking for social media, emails, headlines, punchy body copy, and creative ideas).
Relevant degree/diploma in Copywriting, Advertising, or Digital Marketing (e.g. AAA School of Advertising or Red & Yellow Creative School of Business).
Digital copywriting expertise (ATL and BTL is an advantage).
Copywriting experience on outdoor, fashion, or retail brands is an advantage.
