Job Description To manage the operations of the Insurance claims department by ensuring operational, financial, and service requirements are met:
Day to day running of the complex life claims area, including people and queue management to ensure that we deliver the claims outcomes to customers based on policy provisions within agreed turnaround time. Ensure that complaints and leakage incurred are thoroughly investigated, managed, reported, and remediated without delays.
Provide system and product development input as and when required. Deliver internal and external customer service excellence through adherence to quality service standards. Ensure and maintain sound relationships with internal and external stakeholders including product houses, vendors and reinsurance partners. Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes. Compile periodic reports as required that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions. Preparation and presentation of complex cases periodically in applicable forums, as well as business rules changes to approval steering committees. Assure timely and proper disposition of claims. Recommend and implement best practices to ensure complete and thorough claim settlements, legal reviews and investigation following company policies and insurance industry regulations. Provide sign-off on cases within approval limits and provide written responses on complex claims as well as litigation and National Financial Ombudsman enquiries.
Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own and employee development. Manage team performance in achievement of business objectives. Manage claims project deliverables. Qualifications Medical qualification (OT, Physio or related). 5 years' experience in similar role.
