Ensure optimum maintenance condition of tooling in the change parts store
Job Purpose
- To receive, issue and store all exchangeable tooling.
- Ensure that each stock item has a unique bin location.
- If items have a shelf life ensure the first in first out rule is applied.
- Stock takes to be performed as per the finance requirement and variances investigated and signed off as per the chart of authority.
- All delivery notes to be stamped by security and the stores as proof that the items have been received on our premises.
- The return process also need to be correctly followed on DMS
- All returned tooling to be investigated for wear and tear, repaired or replaced.
- Ensure the rotable process is followed so that all rotables out for repairs are traceable and can be expedited.
- Continuously monitor the usage / history of items and adjust stock levels accordingly by obtaining approval for the adjustments.
- Identify redundant stock and propose write-off
- To provide first line support to all departments
- Month-end procedure to be followed and variances resolved / explained.
- Follow the new stock process to create new stock items after approval is obtained.
- Ensure housekeeping in the store is always up to standard.
- Have sufficient access control into the stores
- Ensure the after-hour procedure is followed for issues and receipts.
- Assist the storeman with stock take queries as well as the procurement assistant.
Key Performance Area
- Planning, organizing and controlling of Quarterly wall to wall stock takes.
- All variances from stock takes to be investigated and resolved.
- Identify redundant stock and tag items, get authorization for write-off or sale.
- Ensure there is compliance to issuing and receiving procedures, including rotables.
- Process new stock requests through an approval process and allocate bins / storage areas.
- Do effective performance management and objective setting as required?
- MRP daily PR to buying, investigations
- Create and maintain a training matrix for the department.
- Weekly department report.
- Monthly reports for Finance of all issues and receipts.
Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
- Monitor service to end users by means of out of stock records daily
- Ensure work is conducted in accordance with work instructions and procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Stock take report variances to be investigated daily and sent for authorization.
- Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels of all stock items to ensure that the correct stock is kept in the store.
- Ensure all stock items have complete descriptions to enable the artisans to search for items and the buyer to source from various suppliers
- Inventory values to be reported monthly for Abaca and dMS
- MRP to be worked through daily
- Daily Cycle counts to be performed
- Information from end users and suppliers
- Relevant Computer system for inventory management
- Technology to search for alternatives or equivalents
- Diploma in stores management beneficial
- Experience in the technical and / or manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
- Extensive experience on can making equipment and tooling
- 2 to 5 years experience in industrial, mechanical or Inventory management environment
- Inventory Management, 5 years, desirable
