Our client is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to drive business development for their prestigious 5-star game lodge in the Waterberg Region, Limpopo. This remote role will focus on identifying, developing, and managing a database of potential clients, including tour operators, travel agents, and DMCs. The Sales Manager will also cross-sell other properties to enhance revenue and market share. Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Conduct client visits to promote the game lodge and its offerings.
- Research clients to understand their business, stakeholders, and procurement processes.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Sales Plan to increase revenue.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from cold calling to closing deals.
- Monitor tender databases and prepare RFPs for corporate clients and conferences.
- Negotiate contracts effectively.
- Cross-sell other properties to maximize revenue opportunities.
Account Management:
- Understand client requirements to retain and grow business.
- Ensure timely renewal of contracts for existing clients.
- Host site inspections, presentations, and familiarization trips as needed.
- Oversee contract implementation and administration.
- Represent the lodge at relevant trade shows and events.
Administration:
- Utilize CRM tools to maintain and grow the client database.
- Update and maintain contact lists for operations and marketing.
- Prepare monthly reports on market trends, competitors, and sales activities.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Recognized sales qualification or 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strategic, analytical,
and data-driven mindset.
- Experience working with tour operators, DMCs, and event planners.
- Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Opera is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities.
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve departmental goals.
- Understanding of budgeting and ability to operate within set financial parameters.
